If you've been looking for a mid-range Android smartphone and you feel some sort of affinity for LG devices, then you will be pleased to know that the South Korean company has just announced that four new mid-range handsets will go on sale globally beginning next month.

Announced a few days ahead of Mobile World Congress 2015 trade fair, LG Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy will be initially launched in South America, followed closely by Europe, Asia, Middle East Africa and North America.

Although there's no word on pricing options yet, we expect them to be cheap if LG wants to be competitive on these markets.

Three out of the four smartphones will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system out of the box, while LG Joy will be powered by Android 4.4 KitKat, so expect this one to be cheaper than the other three devices.

They will be available in two versions: standard and LTE

Moving on to specs, LG Magna seems to be better equipped than the rest. The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display and 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The LTE version of LG Magna, on the other hand, will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU.

However, both versions will come packed with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).

LG Magna also features an 8-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording. In the front, there will be a 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies. The smartphone will be powered by a 2,540 mAh battery.

Next in line, LG Spirit features a 4.7-inch HD (720p) display and comes in two versions as well. The standard model will be equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, while the LTE model will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU.

On the back, both versions pack an 8-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front, depending on the market, the LG Spirit will feature either a 5-megapixel or 1-megapixel camera.

The smartphone will also come with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, microSD card slot (up to 64GB) and 2,100 mAh battery.

Depending on market, some models might have different specs

LG Leon is slightly lower-specced, as the phone has a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display and 1,900 mAh battery.

Just like the other two, it will come in two versions. The LTE model will be equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and VGA front-facing photo snapper.

The standard model will be packed with a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, an 8-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Depending on market, it might come with a 1-megapixel front-facing camera instead.

The standard LG Leon is equipped with 8GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM, or 4GB of storage and 768MB of RAM. The LTE variant will pack 8GB internal memory and 1GB of RAM.

Last but not least, LG Joy sports a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) display and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It will also pack a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a VGA front-facing camera.

The smartphone will feature 4GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB) and 1,900 mAh battery.
