Verizon’s LG Lucid 3 leaked about a month ago, but no details on the phone’s specs sheet or pricing options were unveiled at that time.

The press photo of the smartphone was the only thing that emerged online back in March, which was enough to makes us believe that Verizon was about to debut the LG Lucid 3 soon.

Well, it looks like it took the carrier about a month to add the Lucid 3 to its portfolio of mid-range Android smartphones.

The sequel to the LG Lucid 2 comes with improved hardware and newer software, so fans of the series may want to take into consideration an upgrade to the latest model.

Speaking of which, potential customers can grab the LG Lucid 3 for free on 2-year agreements, while those who do not wish to commit to a long-term contract can purchase the smartphone for $300 (€215) outright.

The upfront price may seem a bit high for a mid-range LG smartphone, but the Lucid 3 embeds some much-needed features, including Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and LTE support.

The bad news is that the 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display only supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution, which is acceptable for a mid-range smartphone, but one that would be priced a bit lower.

Unlike Lucid 2, which is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, the Lucid 3 is now armed with a much more powerful 1.2GHz quad-core processor, probably provided by Qualcomm.

The 4.7-inch display that we have mentioned earlier features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for extra protection and according to LG, it comes with “Narrow Bezel.”

LG Lucid 3 also comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, but keep in mind that the formatted capacity is less. Nevertheless, users will be able to further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

Even though the smartphone packs only a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, the photo snapper can capture full HD (1080p) videos and features LED flash and autofocus. There’s also a secondary VGA camera in the front for video calls.

According to LG, the 2440 mAh battery that powers the Lucid 3 should provide up to 12.5 hours of usage time or up to 15 days of standby time.

Other highlights of the phone include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, along with GPS with A-GPS support, Miracast and DLNA. The Lucid 3 includes LG’s KnockON and Knock Code features, as well as Isis Mobile Wallet.
