Word about LG's next Windows Phone handset emerged a few weeks ago, along with details on its specs. We have also learned that the so-called LG Lancet will be initially launched in the United States at Verizon Wireless.

The information has been confirmed earlier this month thanks to an official brochure that leaked online. Today, PhoneArena received another internal document that confirms LG Lancet will be launched at Verizon on May 21.

The said document also mentions that the smartphone will be powered by Windows Phone 8.1, but that it will be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile when the new operating system gets released later this year.

Another piece of information that we've learned is the fact that LG Lancet will be the first new Windows Phone handset added to the Verizon smartphone lineup in 2015.

This means that the other Windows Phone smartphone to make its debut at Verizon this year, Microsoft Lumia 735 will be launched after May 21.

Unfortunately, there are no details on pricing options, but judging from the leaked specs sheet LG Lancet won't be expensive at all.

LG KnockOn and HD Voice will be included too

Speaking of specs, the Lancet seems to be a budget-friendly smartphone since it comes with a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

In addition, the devices will be equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the Lancet is said to pack an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there will be a VGA camera for video calls.

LG Lancet is expected to ship with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 right out of the box, along with a decent 2,100 battery.
