New clamshell for South Korea

LG L750ie is the name of the latest-announced mobile phone produced by LG and it's a device created to be simple and user-friendly, probably targeting consumers that are no longer young (like the LG Wine, unveiled at the end of April).

For the moment we don't know all the features that LG L750ie will come with, but from those that were unveiled we can tell the handset is a mid to low-end one. LG packed in the new L750ie a 2.4 inch internal display with a QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels), a smaller external display with large fonts, 3G connectivity for data transfer speed of up to 3.6 Mbps, Music and Video players and a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording. A cool thing about the L750ie is that below its internal display it has four quick-access keys. These can be set to command the most used four functions of the handset, so that you get to have an easy access to them, right after the phone is opened.

The L750ie clamshell weighs 103 grams and measures 100 x 51 x 17.3 millimeters (when not flipped), so it's not among the slimmest LG handsets released until now. Details like the internal memory of the phone or its battery lifetime remain a mystery for the moment, but they're probably not too great, since we're not talking about a high-end phone.

LG L750ie will hit the market in August, most probably via LG Telecom, the wholly owned subsidiary of LG and the third largest mobile operator in South Korea, after SK Telecom and SKT. There is no word yet about the price of the new clamshell, or about its release on other markets besides the Korean one. Anyway, knowing that most of the phones released by LG in its home-country don't get to be launched anywhere else, we assume the L750ie will be a Korea-exclusive too.
