Future wider availability is to be expected

The new LG flagship mobile phone KM900 Arena has been officially released and it will sell at T-mobile UK for the time being. The phone has been showcased at this year's GSM Mobile World Congress and was one of the hottest devices at the LG booth. LG KM900 Arena is the first phone to feature the innovative S class 3D interface that helps users navigate the menus easily and comfortably (check the demo video below).

The phone features the new standard in-touch display developed for mobile phones, an amazing 3-inch capacitive touchscreen supporting a 480x800 pixel resolution. The eye-candy user interface borrowed from HTC's TouchFlo 3D GUI and seems pretty 'iPhonish' too. The question is how fast it will move considering the low-power CPUs that the Korean company seems to have become addicted to (in a negative way). Other features of the high-end device include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB 2.0, 8GB internal memory, but also microSD slot card for memory expansion (up to 16GB).

Still, the main attraction of the phone is the 5 Megapixel camera, featuring Schneider-Kreuznach optics, autofocus, flash and powerful video recording capabilities (720x480@30fps or QVGA@120fps). Unfortunately, the bigger screen and the high-quality camera seem to take their toll on the included 1000 mAh Li-ion battery, which has a short time span: 300 h standby time and 3 hours and 50 minutes talk time.

The rest of the features seem to be pretty standard: music and movie player (MP3, MPEG4, AAC, DivX, Xvid), FM radio and FM transmitter, Document viewer (DOC, XLS, PPT, PDF), TV-out, Motion games, 3.5 mm audio jack and secondary camera for video-calls.

The LG KM900 Arena has been made available on T-Mobile contract deals in the UK, but as this is an initial exclusive network launch we should expect wider availability in a short time after its first release.

There are also plans to offer the LG Arena, as a Pay As You Go phone without the lengthy contract agreements along with a SIM Free launch, which will see the phone being sold without any network ties. Check out the long list of possible contracts that you can opt for with LG KM900 Arena from T-Mobile UK.
