Entry-level fashion phone

LG KF300, one of the latest handsets from LG's KF fashion-orientated series, is an entry-level device created to bring good looks to users that don't really want to spend lots of money on a cell phone. Some details about KF300 first appeared at the end of February, but now we have images with it and also an almost complete list of specifications.

Being an entry-level device, LG KF300 will not offer consumers many advanced features, but it can still be a good phone if you only need basic functionality. The handset comes in a clamshell form factor and has a large (hence easy to use) numeric keypad that makes it a good choice for elderly users. It works on tri-band GSM networks and offers GPRS, EDGE, a 2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, Flash user interface, Music player (MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and AAC++), Video player (MPEG-4 and H.263), FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0, USB, WAP 2.0 / xHTML web browser, 10MB of internal memory and microSD card support.

The main, internal display of LG KF300 is a 2.4 inch one that supports 256K colors and a 240 x 320 pixels resolution ? pretty good for a clamshell. There is also an external 1.3 inch display with 256K colors and 128 x 160 pixels.

The new KF300 resembles SV300 Wine, a phone released by LG back in 2007 only for the South Korean market, and it could actually be an improved version of it, specially created for world-wide distribution.

LG didn't make any statements regarding the availability and price of KF300, but we should expect these details to be announced next week, during CTIA Wireless (1 ? 3 April). Taking a wild guess, based on the fact that we know how much SV300 Wine costs, KF300 will retail for about $300 (195 Euro), which would be a pretty good price.
