LG KF240, part of LG's KF fashion-oriented line-up of handsets, is now available in South America - in Brazil, more exactly. The handset was first announced in February, and Brazil is the first country where it can be bought.

The KF240 is a mid to low-end device with multimedia-centered features. The handset comes in a slider form factor and has a nice and ergonomic design, which should make it pretty easy to use.

Among the features of LG KF240, we have: MP3 player with Background Mode, FM radio, stereo Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 176 x 220 pixel TFT display with 262K colors, a 2 Megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and video recording, 20MB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 2GB, organizer, alarm, world clock and so on. The phone weighs 91 grams, measures 94 x 47 x 16 millimeters (when closed) and comes with an 800 mAh battery capable of offering a talk-time of up to 3 hours and a stand-by time of up to 200 hours.

LG KF240 is offered to Brazilian users only by Vivo, the largest mobile operator in the country, although its price is not listed on Vivo's website - it should be a reasonable one anyway.

The KF240 available in Brazil comes with GSM connectivity only on the 850, 1800 and 1900 MHz frequencies. But since LG said a few months ago that the phone would also be available in Europe and Asia, a 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz GSM version of the handset also exists, so as to be compatible with the European and Asian networks.

For the moment, we can't say when the new LG will become available in Europe and Asia, but since Brazil already has the phone, we should expect the KF240 to hit other markets starting July or even later this month.
