LG KC550 is one of LG's new mobile phones that appeared on the market without being officially announced by the South Korean company. What's a bit unusual about this is that the handset is far from being one that can go around without getting noticed.

The new KC550 is offered by Expansys, a UK online retailer, unlocked, for 179.99 GBP (meaning about 355 USD or 225 Euros). This is quite a reasonable price, considering that the handset comes with a range of pretty nice features. Its highlight is a 5 Megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens, auto focus, image stabilizer and flash - more than enough for taking good quality pictures.

The device look nothing out of the ordinary, as it resembles most of the LG handsets appeared in the KF series, but without having their highly fashionable aspect. Being a slider phone, KC550 unveils an alphanumeric keypad when opened, which, added to its 5-way navigation d-pad, should offer an easy way of controlling its functions.

Besides the 5 Megapixel camera, LG KC550 also features tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, a 2.4 inch display with 240 x 320 pixels, Music player (MP3 and AAC support), FM radio, stereo Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, built-in accelerometer for a cool gaming experience (6 games are pre-installed), Instant Messaging, Web and email capabilities, USB and so on.

Measuring 96 x 51.4 x 14.3 millimeters and weighing 100 grams, LG KC550 has 25MB of internal memory - kind of insufficient, but that's why there's also a microSD card slot included.

The new LG KC550 seems to be the most reasonably priced 5 Megapixel handset on the market. Knowing what LG can do in terms of highly-evolved camera phones (see the Viewty for example), we think the KC550 can only be a good device.
