LG HELiX Now Available on Cricket

Wireless carrier Cricket Communications, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc., recently announced the launch of LG HELiX, a compact and stylish handset from LG Mobile Phones. According to the operator, the release of this device marks the reintroduction of LG into Cricket's handset offering.

The new LG HELiX comes to the market with a 2.0-inch TFT internal color display that boasts a 176 x 220 pixel resolution and supports up to 262K colors, as well as with a TFT external color display that features a 96 x 64 resolution and support for 262K colors. In addition, the phone also comes with a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper.

“We are pleased to have LG back in our handset portfolio, and believe LG HELiX is the perfect device to reintroduce LG to our customers,” said Matt Stoiber, vice president and general manager of devices for Cricket. “Cricket customers will appreciate its fashionable design with large keys and color options,
quality features and affordable price tag.”

The handset also sports a large keypad, as well as Voice Clarity capabilities (so that users can make calls even in some of the noisier environments), Bluetooth connectivity, one-touch speakerphone, support for voice commands, picture ID, text and picture messaging, as well as access to Mobile Web. According to Cricket, the phone will come in two color options, traditional silver and fashionable pink.

Both silver and pink variants of the new LG HELiX are now available for purchase at Cricket retail stores, as well as online on the carrier's website and via dealers. The price tag for the phone has been set at $139.99 MSRP.
