It’s a very well-known fact that LG’s next flagship smartphone will soon be unveiled. The device has leaked online countless of times, hinting towards an impending release.

Just a few hours ago, the handset was spotted making an appearance in benchmarks, revealing an interesting detail related to its internal specifications.

Until now, we’ve been telling you that LG was probably looking to unwrap the G4 next month, but we didn't know when exactly it would happen.

LG G4 coming out on April 28

As it turns out, the Korean company has started sending out invites to its “See the Great, Feel the Great” event that’s scheduled to take place on April 28 in several locations including New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul (due to the time difference, the last three locations will actually see the G4 unveiled on April 29).

Now that we've pegged an exact date to the whole affair, we can go ahead and remind you that for the last few months, we've been telling you that the LG G4 was due to arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip on the inside. But albeit putting the silicone piece inside of its G Flex 2 bendy smartphone, LG seems to have changed its mind while its flagship is concerned.

The benchmarks reveal the company has dropped the Snapdragon 810 in favor of another model launched by Qualcomm at the same time, the Snapdragon 808. This is a hexa-core chip clocked at 1.8GHz, working hand in hand with an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

You probably shouldn't be reading all that much into the absence of the Snapdragon 810 on board the G4. The company is also prepping a premium phablet to be placed above the G4, currently dubbed the G4 Note, so LG might have reserved Qualcomm’s greatest for the above mentioned flagship.

This is how the LG G4 will present itself

According to the benchmark listing, the LG G4 packs 32GB of internal storage, but like in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S6, you will not find a microSD card slot onboard.

On the bright side of things, the upcoming LG flagship will boast a spacious 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) capacitive touchscreen display.

The phone is also said to don an impressive 16MP camera with laser focus, LED flash and 4K video recording, while up in front lives an 8MP camera for video calls and selfies.

Any takers?
