Although LG announced its flagship smartphone, the G4, in late April, the device is only available for purchase in South Korea. The handset maker confirmed that the smartphone would be available at more than 180 carriers and retailers this spring, but no exact release dates have been given.

Today, the South Korean company announces that the global rollout of LG G4 will start this week. This means that beginning today the smartphone will become available in various parts of the world.

According to LG, prices and additional purchase details will be announced locally at the time of availability, and may vary by carrier and market.

The company also announced that LG G4 would first be introduced in Hong Kong, to be followed with rollouts in Turkey, Russia and Singapore, eventually including most of Europe, North America, CIS, Southeart Asia, Middle East Africa and South Central America.

A Quick Charge 2.0 adapter must be purchased separately to enable the feature

The smartphone will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and LG Optimus UX 4.0 UI on top. It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone will be fully compatible with Quick Charge 2.0, but only with Quick Charge 2.0 certified adapter that must be purchased separately.

Specs-wise, the G4 is packed with a 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

It also features 32GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. On the back, LG G4 boasts an impressive 16-megapixel camera with laser autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), LED flash and 4K video recording.

There's also a secondary, no less impressive 8-megapixel camera in the front, which is great for video calls and selfies.

“The LG G4 is our most ambitious smartphone yet because it is unlike any other flagship mobile phone on the market today. Our vision is to create our own set of standards without worrying about what trend other smartphones are following.

“We think we have a winning formula because the initial reaction to the G4 has been tremendously positive,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
