Last week, South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics made official a new, smaller flavor of its LG G3 flagship handset, and the smartphone is already available for pre-order in the UK, it seems.

The new device will arrive on shelves in Europe under the name of LG G3 S, but should be released in South Korea as LG G3 Beat.

At the moment, the smartphone is available for reservations in the UK via online retailer MobileFun, which has it listed at £299 ($510/€378).

A few days ago, the handset was confirmed to arrive in European markets with a price tag of €349 ($471) attached to it, which means that it will actually be a bit more expensive in the UK (something that has happened with a great deal of other phones as well).

The one thing that hasn’t been officially confirmed as of now, however, is when exactly the new device will start to arrive on shelves on the old continent.

However, as GSMArena notes, considering the fact that the mobile phone is already available for purchase in South Korea, users in Europe should be able to grab it in a matter of weeks.

As a refresher, the LG G3 S arrives on the market with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering an HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution at a 294ppi pixel density.

Moreover, the mobile phone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 graphics and 1GB of RAM. It might not be able to match the performance of its larger sibling, but it will certainly deliver more than decent capabilities to all users.

At the same time, LG G3 S features 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the handset sports an 8-megapixel camera with laser autofocus, LED Flash, HDR, and full HD video recording capabilities, which is complemented by a 1.3MP front camera for making video calls.

Connectivity-wise, the smartphone includes support for 4G LTE and HSPA+ networks, along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, and a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS.

LG G3 S is powered by a 2540mAh battery and runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. Moreover, it also features the latest flavor of LG’s Optimus UI loaded on top, with a variety of exclusive applications and software features included.
