Last week, South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics unveiled to the world its latest flagship Android-based smartphone, in the form of LG G3, and the device appears to be off for a good start on the vendor’s homeland market.

According to info coming from ETNews, LG G3 is currently selling in South Korea at a pace of around 25,000-30,000 units per day, which already makes it a great selling phone.

In fact, sales of the device are said to be about two times higher than those of LG G2 in fall last year, which suggests that it could see similar interest on other markets out there as well.

Furthermore, LG G3 appears to be snowballing when compared to other flagship phones that have been released in South Korea lately, such as the Samsung Galaxy S5.

During the initial launch timeframe, this device managed to move only around 7,000-8,000 units per day, which was about three times lower when compared to the LG G3.

However, there are a few factors that need to be taken into consideration when comparing the sales of the two, including the fact that the G3 comes to the market with a Quad HD touchscreen display right from the start.

Moreover, we should not forget the fact that Galaxy S5 was available only via one wireless carrier in South Korea at launch, and that sales would have been higher if all three had released it at the same time.

On the other hand, LG appears to have spent a small amount of money on the marketing campaign for the LG G3, at least when compared to Samsung’s effort with the Galaxy S5.

Basically, the hardware specs and capabilities of LG G3 are speaking for themselves, which will certainly help the company regain some of the market share it has been losing lately.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the LG G3 was made official with a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) screen, and with a 2.46GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor inside.

Moreover, the phone sports 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the mobile phone sports a 13-megapixel camera with OIS capabilities, complemented by a front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The LG G3 also arrives on the market with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS receiver, and a 3000mAh battery with wireless charging capabilities. The smartphone runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.
