The previous update caused some problems and was pulled

If you own a T-Mobile LG G3 and have already received Android 5.0.1 Lollipop back in April,  chances are that you're a disgruntled customer.

Unfortunately, the update that LG rolled out to T-Mobile G3 devices was so buggy that it caused many problems like battery drainage, Wi-Fi disconnection and many more.

Apparently, the problems were so deep that T-Mobile and LG have pulled the update, so that it won't cause issues to more G3 units.

According to many reports taken from T-Mobile's forums, but also from LG's support website, the most spread issues affecting LG G3 units are battery drainage, Wi-Fi stability and SMS issues, Gmail problems (not syncing), and Hangouts (not receiving notifications).

On top of that, some users experience sluggishness while trying to write messages (keyboard pops up very slow), Bluetooth audio stuttering and many others.

Customers that called T-Mobile to complain about these issues were told that all these problems were already known by LG and that they intended to address these bugs in a future update.

However, no ETA has been given on the release of the update because LG was still working to fix the bugs in Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.

The update will be available later today

Today, T-Mobile confirmed that they have approved an Android Lollipop update, which will be available for download later today.

Unfortunately, there's no changelog available for this update yet, but we suspect LG G3 owners will receive the same update they got back in April, minus the bugs.

Those who already have Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for about two months now will probably receive a smaller update that should address the issue in the previous one.

It's unclear for the moment how LG will proceed, but if you own a T-Mobile G3, you should now check for Android Lollipop on your smartphone by heading to System settings / General / About phone / Update Centers / System updates / Check now.
