LG continues the global rollout of its Android flagship smartphone, the G3, in Canada. The South Korean handset maker has just announced that the device will be available for purchase in the country beginning August 1 from all major carriers and retailers.

According to LG, Bell, Rogers, MTS, SaskTel, and Videotron will carry the smartphone, but customers will be able to grab the G3 from multiple authorized resellers, such as Tbooth Wireless, The Source, WIRELESSWAVE, and many others.

Each carrier will announce when it opens pre-orders for the LG G3 and for what price. For the time being, it’s unclear whether or not there will be any promotional offers for the LG G3 in Canada, but more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.

As many of you probably know by now, LG G3 is one of the first Android smartphones available on the market that boasts an amazing 5.5-inch True HD IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

Obviously, the smartphone will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, but LG is expected to offer an upgrade to Android L soon after Google releases it.

Even though the information hasn’t been confirmed yet, given the fact that this is the company’s latest flagship smartphone, it would make sense to be the first to get the upgrade.

Hardware-wise, LG G3 is equipped with a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

The Canadian version of the G3 will also pack 32GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).

Another strong point of the flagship smartphone is the impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features laser focus, dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording. There’s also a 2.1-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies, which can also capture full HD (1080p) videos.

The LG G3 comes preloaded with unique apps and services, like Kill Switch, Knock Code, and Content Lock, which offer an extra layer of security that other smartphones might lack.

“Life is complicated. Your smartphone shouldn't be! The LG G3 packs the innovation consumers want, with the simplicity they crave. Developed under LG's Learning from You philosophy, the G3 demonstrates that in today's evolving smartphone market, real innovation is delivering technology that is both advanced and simple to use,” said Ross Snow, vice-president, LG Mobile Communications.
