South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has been long rumored to bring to the market a new flavor of the LG G3 flagship device, one that would sport better hardware specs when compared to the original, and the handset appears to have already landed on pre-order in the country.

The smartphone was said to arrive on shelves under the name of LG G3 Prime, but it seems that the vendor has decided to call it LG G3 Cat. 6 instead, and that users in its homeland market can get ready for its arrival.

As it turns out, the new mobile phone arrives on shelves with a Snapdragon 805 processor inside, just as previously rumored, which allows it to deliver faster connectivity capabilities than before.

Basically, the smartphone is now compatible with the LTE-Advanced networks that wireless carriers in South Korea are operating, and which enables data transfer speeds of up to 300 Mbps.

LG’s G3 Cat. 6 smartphone is the second high-end smartphone to arrive in South Korea with the aforementioned network connectivity inside, after Samsung made a similar move with the Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

Both of these devices arrive on shelves in the country with Cat. 6 LTE chipsets integrated in the aforementioned Snapdragon 805 processor, which ensures faster connectivity capabilities for their users.

The LG G3 was made official in May with a 5.5-inch Quad HD touchscreen display, and the new flavor of the device keeps that, along with all of the other hardware capabilities that the phone already sports.

However, while the Galaxy S5 LTE-A features a Quad HD screen too, the original Galaxy S5 came to the market only with a 5.1-inch full HD display.

LG G3 was already considered a highly appealing device, and the new flavor of the device should make it ever more attractive to users out there.

The one thing that hasn’t been confirmed as of now, however, is whether the phone will make it in other markets out there as well.

Apparently, LG Greece has unveiled that the smartphone will be released in this country before the end of the summer, but no official word on the matter has been provided as of now.

With only a small number of countries out there having deployed LTE networks capable of delivering data speeds of up to 300 Mbps, chances are that the new LG G3 Cat. 6 will see limited availability around the world. Hopefully, more info on the matter will emerge sooner rather than later, so stay tuned to learn the news.
