Today, South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has officially announced the upcoming availability of its mid-range LG G3 Beat in South Korea, Europe, and CIS countries.

The mobile phone, aimed at the mid-range market, was spotted in China several weeks ago, and has been rumored to arrive on shelves worldwide as the mini version of LG G3, with the name of LG G3 S attached to it.

The new LG G3 Beat is set to arrive on shelves in South Korea as soon as tomorrow, July 18. Soon after that, the handset will be released in various markets in Europe, as well as in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.

Users in Europe and CIS markets will be able to buy the device as LG G3 S, the handset vendor has confirmed. Unfortunately, LG hasn’t provided specific details on the phone’s pricing, but more on the matter will be revealed as it arrives on shelves.

Although a mid-tier phone, LG G3 Beat will still include a series of premium capabilities that LG G3 arrived on shelves with, such as the Floating Arc metallic design and the fast Laser Auto Focus technology.

However, the phone will sport a smaller package, as it features only a 5-inch HD IPS touchscreen display and a thin bezel. According to LG, it delivers a screen-to-body ratio of 74.1 percent, which is the highest in the mid-range segment.

“Smartphone manufacturers cannot ignore this growing segment of consumers who want the best balance of looks, features, performance and, of course, price,” Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, says.

“The LG G3 Beat represents our commitment to the mid-tier smartphone market that demands mature technology, proven branding, great innovation and attractive price, all in a single device.”

The mobile phone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Moreover, it comes to the market with 8GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

On the back, the handset features an 8-megapixel camera with Laser Auto Focus and full HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a 1.3MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

Moreover, the mobile device includes 4G LTE connectivity, along with HSPA+ 21Mbps, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS.

LG G3 Beat is powered by a 2540mAh removable battery, measures 137.7 x 69.6 x 10.3mm, and weighs 134 grams. It will arrive on shelves in three color flavors, including Metallic Black, Silk White, and Shine Gold.

Running under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right from the start, the mobile phone also comes with various software enhancements from LG themselves, including Touch & Shoot, Smart Keyboard, QuickMemo+, Gesture Shot, and more.
