Good news for AT&T customers who own the LG G2, as the carrier has just announced that it has kicked off the rollout of a new update for the high-end smartphone.

According to AT&T, the update is about 5.59MB in size for those LG G2 users who have already upgraded to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The carrier also states that the update is only available for download OTA (over the air) via Wi-Fi connection.

The short announcement on AT&T’s support website also mentions that a FOTA (firmware over the air) notification of the software update will be sent to devices for those customers that have already updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

However, there might be some AT&T LG G2 users who have yet to receive the KitKat update. For those, AT&T said that they would be able to initiate the update through device “Settings” while using Wi-Fi. Keep in mind though that the file size of the update will be much larger (679MB).

The update is meant to fix some issues with the Google+ and Google Wallet. Apparently, the last major update broke the Tap & Pay features of the LG G2, which are now (hopefully) fixed in this update. Have you received the update yet?
