On Thursday, wireless carrier AT&T announced a new software update for the owners of LG G2 smartphones on its network, so as to provide them with some more improvements, it seems.

The new firmware release will arrive on handsets as version M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190034 and will weigh in at 15.4 MB.

In fact, AT&T notes on its support website that the update has already started to roll out to users over-the-air, and that it brings along FOTA enhancement to support future updates, along with a series of Google improvements.

“Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend that you back up your media files to a PC, or using a favorite application (from the Play store), prior to upgrading the software,” the wireless carrier also notes.

Users will be notified on their devices on the availability of the update, but they can also manually check for it, through going to Settings > About device > Software update.
