South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is getting ready for the launch of a new flagship Android-based smartphone, the successor of last year’s Optimus G, a handset that will sport the name of LG G2, and which can be seen in a new set of leaked photos.

The new device, expected to become official on August 7, will hit the market with a 5.2-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution, and will also include a 2610mAh battery.

The smartphone is also said to sport a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside, paired with 3GB of RAM. It should feature the volume rocker on the back, and LG did tease this feature recently, as PhoneArena notes.

Until more details on the device emerge online, have a look at the new photos with it, available courtesy of Ruliweb.
