As expected, LG has announced that its Android flagship smartphone, the G2, will be available in Canada beginning September 27.

Customers will be able to purchase it through lots of carriers and major retailers, including Rogers, Bell Mobility, TELUS, Videotron, SaskTel, WIND Mobile, WIRELESSWAVE, Tbooth wireless, WIRELESS, Target Mobile, Best Buy, Future Shop, The Source and Mobile Shop.

For the time being, no info on the handset’s price tag have been revealed, but LG states that each carrier and retailer will set and announce their own pricing individually in the coming weeks.

LG G2 has already been confirmed for the United States via several carriers, so it makes sense for the smartphone to make it to Canada around the same time frame.

For those unfamiliar with G2’s specs sheet, the smartphone is equipped with a powerful 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal memory.

Sadly, LG’s high-end smartphone lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion, so users will be limited to what’s included inside by default.

The smartphone boasts a large 5.2-inch True HD IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) video recording and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

LG G2 will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but the South Korean handset maker plans to offer an Android 4.3 upgrade in the coming months.

“The LG G2 has been garnering some amazing attention and anticipation around the world since it was announced in New York on August 7. We are ecstatic to announce that the wait is finally over and Canadians will be able to get their hands on the LG G2 by the end of September, through our carrier and retail partners,” said Geoffrey McMurdo, vice president mobile communications, LG Canada.
