Rumors on the LG G Vista mid-range Android smartphone emerged a few weeks ago, but Verizon and LG did not confirm the existence of the device until today.

In fact, neither company announced the availability of the G Vista. Instead, the Big Red simply listed the smartphone on its webstore and silently put it on sale.

The LG G Vista is now available for purchase through Verizon’s official retail channels for only $100 (€75) on two-year agreements. Customers can also grab the handset for only $20 (€15) per month through Verizon EDGE.

Those who do not wish to commit to a long-term contract can buy the LG G Vista for $400 (€300) upfront. It’s also worth mentioning that the smartphone is only available in black color.

As mentioned earlier, the LG G Vista leaked a few weeks ago, so we already knew much about the phone’s specs and design before Verizon put it on sale.

Judging by its specs sheet, the G Vista is a mid-range smartphone powered by Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box.

Aside from the usual new features included in KitKat, the handset also comes with several unique functions courtesy to LG. For example, the device allows users to split the screen so that they can see two apps at once for better multitasking. This feature is called Dual Window and is available on other LG smartphones as well.

Then there is the Mini View option, which scales the phone’s screen so the whole page is within the user’s thumb’s reach. Basically, you will be able to control the phone’s display with either your left or right hand.

QuickMemo, QSlide and Knock Code are three unique features included by LG in all its smartphones launched in the last 12 months or so.

Hardware-wise, LG G Vista is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. The smartphone comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB) as well.

The G Vista also sports a large 5.7-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) capacitive touchscreen display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating. On the back, there’s an 8-megapixel photo snapper which features autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording.

On the front, the smartphone packs a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls, while under the hood there’s a high-capacity 3200 mAh battery, which should provide up to 21 days of standby time or up to 15 hours of talk time.
