We reported about a week ago on LG G Pro 2's official announcement, but at that time no details on the availability of the high-end smartphone were disclosed.

Today, GSMArena reports that an unnamed telecom services provider in South Korean has confirmed that the LG G Pro 2 will be available for purchase in the country beginning February 21.

The smartphone will not be released in other regions such as Europe and North America until later this spring.

Initial word was that the G Pro 2 would be launched in Europe and the United States sometime in May, but according to the latest hearsay, LG won't put it on sale in these regions “before April.”

However, LG G Pro 2 is likely to arrive in other Asian countries in March, though no country names have been offered yet. We suspect that LG will want to bring the G Pro 2 to China, Taiwan and possibly India as well, but take these examples with a grain of salt.

It is also worth mentioning that the G Pro 2 will probably be packed with slightly different features when launched in other countries.

For the time being, the South Korean version has been confirmed to ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box and lots of proprietary software.

It will come with a brand new feature called Knock Code, which is said to be an evolution of the KnockON feature unveiled last year with the LG G2.

With Knock Code, users will be able to power on and unlock their G Pro 2 smartphones in one easy step by tapping their screens using one of the 86,367 “knock” combinations.

Moreover, the knock pattern can be entered on any area of the screen, whether the display is turned on or off, using anywhere from two to eight taps.

Hardware-wise, LG G Pro 2 will be equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26GHz, 3GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal memory.
