Good news for LG fans in India, as the company’s high-end G Pro 2 is about to make its debut in the country. We reported about two weeks ago that the smartphone might be launched in India sometime in May, but it looks like LG was a bit faster.

However, potential customers won’t be able to grab the smartphone just yet, as stock is underway. According to Indian retailer MaheshTelecom, LG G Pro 2 will be available for Rs 49,900 ($825 / €595) outright and the first units are set to arrive in just a few days.

This means that the LG G Pro 2 will hit shelves in India in early May. The smartphone may go on sale at other Indian retailers as well, but for the time being, MaheshTelecom is the only one that has confirmed that the G Pro 2 will be available in the coming days.

The price might seem high for an Android smartphone that’s been released earlier this year, especially since Samsung has already introduced the Galaxy S5 in India, while HTC has just put the One M8 on sale in the country.

All these three high-end smartphones have almost similar prices, which will make any decision regarding the choosing of the right Android device harder for customers.

Even though it was launched a few months ago, the G Pro 2 was only available in South Korea. The smartphone ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box and the latest version of LG Optimus UI.

One of the strong points of the G Pro 2 is the outstanding 5.9-inch True IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen display, which features full HD (1080p), 373ppi (pixel density) and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The large screen basically puts the LG G Pro 2 in the phablet category, thus avoiding the clash with other titans like Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8.

Furthermore, the phablet is armed with a powerful 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

It packs 16GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD memory card. LG G Pro 2 is also a beast of a smartphone thanks to the 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash, OIS (optical image stabilization) and 4K video recording.

In the front, the G Pro 2 has a much lower 2.1-megapixel camera for video calls. Other highlights of the phone include LTE Cat4 support, Wi-Fi, DLNA and Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP and a huge 3200 mAh battery.

[UPDATE]: We've just got word that LG G Pro 2 will be available in India beginning today via MaheshTelecom, so there you have it folks.
