LG has already confirmed that it will launch a sequel to the G Pro sometime this month, but the South Korean company did not disclose the smartphone’s specs sheet and exact release date.

However, the folks over at Phonearena have just spotted a report ran by ZDNet Korea, which confirms that the LG G Pro 2 will be officially introduced in South Korea on February.

The handset maker has already started to send invitations for the press event, which will take place at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul.

Even though the invitations are not that specific as to confirm LG G Pro 2’s unveiling, they hint to a device that will be packed with the company’s Knock On feature that allows users to wake up a sleeping handset by double tapping on its screen.

Little is known about LG G Pro 2’s specs, but as far as we know, this will not be the South Korean company’s flagships smartphone. We’re still expecting LG to announce the G3, the handset maker’s true flagship device, but there are no details on when it might be unveiled.

Anyway, back to the G Pro 2, the smartphone is rumored to come equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and no less than 3GB of RAM under the hood.

LG has also confirmed that its high-end smartphone will boast a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, autofocus, OIS and 4K video recording. It will also feature a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Furthermore, the device is said to sport a full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) capacitive touchscreen display of unknown size. There’s a high chance that the G Pro 2’s screen will have at least 5 inches, but this is just a guess for the moment.

Software-wise, LG G Pro 2 is expected to run Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, but this has yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
