LG has announced it is bringing its latest tablet effort to the Australian shores. Customers will be able to grab the LG G Pad 8.3 in November for a price of AUD$399 / $380 / €281.

It appears JB HiFi will be amongst the first ones to sell it around the middle of the month, reports Ausdroid.

The slate has a good look and feel to it, and will allow for numerous alternate uses. It will become available with an 8.3-inch WUXGA screen, with a good 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. LG has slipped in a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC with 2GB of RAM.

The slate is pretty light, weighing 338 grams / 0.74lbs, so it can be easily packed off when you’re going on trips or vacations. The 16GB of storage available on board can be extended up to 64GB if needed.

Photography fans will find a 5MP AF rear-camera plus a 1.3MP frontal one. There’s also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

As you can see specifications are pretty neat, but let’s see what else the slate has to offer. For starters, LG has packed in the QPair software, which will allow users to receive messages and calls from Android Jelly Bean-equipped phones and other G Pads.

Those using an LG phone will be able to transfer QMemo content onto the tablet and go on editing their work on a bigger screen.

Another software enhancement is the QSlide that allows for up to three different apps to run on-screen at the same time. On top of that, there’s the KnockOn which enables users to simply tap on the screen twice in order to wake it up.

What’s more, with QRemote users will be able to control their TVs, DVD or Bluray players, so if you’re on the couch browsing the web and feel like you’d want to hear the news too, you won’t have to get up and go looking for the TV remote. Overall, the LG G Pad 8.3 is something worth looking into.
