The first curved smartphone launched by LG and the world's second mobile phone to feature a flexible display after Samsung's Galaxy Round, the G Flex is already available for purchase in South Korea.

The only smartphones in the world to have curved displays can only be bought from South Korea, the native market of both LG and Samsung.

However, the former has already confirmed that it will bring the LG G Flex in other countries as well, while the latter is still mum on the Galaxy Round's availability outside South Korea.

The G Flex is slated for release in Europe and North America in the following weeks. We already have confirmation that the smartphone will be offered by all major carriers in the United States.

Regarding the release timeframe of the G Flex in the US, everything seems to point to an early 2014 launch, though certain dates are expected to be announced by each carrier within the next weeks.

Sprint is one of the US-based network operators that will add the G Flex to its portfolio of Android devices. The information is further confirmed by evleaks, which has just published the first press render of the Sprint-bounded version of the G Flex.

Aside from a small logo shown on the phone's display, there doesn't seem to be a Sprint branding etched on the G Flex's chassis, which might make some Android fans happy. The date showing on the display also suggests that the phone will be launched at Sprint on February 7, 2014.

No details on the phone's specs sheet has been unveiled yet, but we don't expect them to be much different in comparison with the South Korean variant.

LG G Flex comes with a 6-inch curved P-OLED capacitive touchscreen display that features HD (720p) resolution and 245 ppi (pixel density).

On the inside, the phone is equipped with a powerful 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone has been confirmed to pack 32GB of internal memory, but no microSD card slot for memory expansion.
