LG’s first curved smartphone, the G Flex has been confirmed to arrive in Europe, North America and Asia, but the South Korean company was a little reluctant to offer exact release dates until now.

In a short press release, LG has announced that the G Flex will be available for purchase in Singapore beginning December 8. Additionally, customers in Hong Kong will be able to pick this one as well from December 13.

However, these are not the only countries that will get the LG G Flex this month, as the handset maker has confirmed that other key Asian markets will make similar announcements by the end of the year.

“The LG G Flex has captivated early adopters everywhere as the first smartphone curved to follow the contour of the human face, made possible with the implementation of the world’s first curved smartphone battery.

“With a durable plastic OLED (P-OLED) HD display, the G Flex also comes with a self-healing back cover that eliminates those day-to-day scratches, making it the first smartphone to incorporate such technology,” reads LG’s press release.

Unlike Samsung Galaxy Round that comes with a horizontally curved display, LG G Flex features a vertically curved touchscreen display, which makes much more sense.

The smartphone is packed with a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, which is complemented by an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

LG G Flex features 32GB of internal memory and no microSD card slot for memory expansion has been included. Furthermore, the phone boasts a 6-inch HD (720p) curved P-OLED capacitive touchscreen display, as well as an impressive 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Other highlights of the G Flex include: LTE Cat4, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, as well as Dolby mobile sound enhancement and 3500 mAh Li-Polymer battery.
