The second curved smartphone announced, LG G Flex has just been confirmed for next week in South Korea. Although the smartphone was officially launched last month, LG did not unveil when exactly it would be released on the market and for what price.

Today, the handset maker has issued an official press release in which it states that LG G Flex will be available in South Korea beginning next week for 999.900 won outright, which is about $940 or €700.

Moreover, LG has confirmed that the G Flex will be available for purchase in Europe as well. The first country to get the smartphone is France and customers will be able to pick this one up from December. No word on price tag yet, but we expect it to be priced similarly to the South Korean version.

Unlike Samsung’s Galaxy Round, LG G Flex actually bends. The smartphone comes with a flexible 6-inch P-OLED (Real RGB) capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels).

The phone’s curved 3500 mAh Li-Ion battery is non-removable, but even if one could pull it out, this kind of battery is probably very hard to find for the moment.

According to LG, the G Flex will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but we expect that the handset maker will offer a 4.4 KitKat upgrade at some point next year.

Hardware-wise, the phablet comes equipped with a powerful 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit clocked at 450 MHz, as well as 2GB of RAM.

On the inside, the G Flex packs 32GB of internal memory, but does not support microSD cards for memory expansion. Last but not least, it boasts an enhanced 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as secondary 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
