LG has just announced that its curved G Flex smartphone will arrive in Canada exclusively through Rogers. The high-end device will be available for purchase sometime “this Spring” for a price that will be announced closer to launch.

“As the first curved smartphone on the Canadian market, the LG G Flex is cutting-edge from the inside out, offering Rogers customers a unique smartphone experience. The G Flex further establishes LG as a premium brand with a product that is poised to reinvigorate excitement in the smartphone category for 2014,” said Ross Snow, vice-president, mobile communications, LG Canada.

The smartphone will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but we expect LG to offer an Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade in the following weeks.

Aside from the usual stuff offered by Jelly Bean, the G Flex also packs some of LG's innovative features and apps, including QTheatre, Dual Window and Swing Lockscreen.

Hardware-wise, LG G Flex will come equipped with a powerful 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

In addition, the smartphone boast a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Obviously, the phone's main selling point is the curved 6-inch P-OLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

“Rogers customers always have access to the latest and greatest smartphones, and we look forward to bringing them a new device experience with the LG G Flex. The G Flex will reach its full potential on our LTE network, offering customers blazing fast speeds that keep them connected and entertained,” added John Boynton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Rogers Communications.

Those who wish to be among the first to grab the LG G Flex can now reserve the device online using the Rogers Reservation System.
