14 DAY TRIAL // One of the major smartphone announcements at CES this year was LG’s next-gen G Flex smartphone. The company introduced the world to the era of bendy smartphones a year ago with the original G Flex, but this year they showed a fine-tuned version of it.
But even if LG launched the G Flex 2, it did not mention anything about its pricing. So we were left assuming it would be quite a lot, right?
How much will the LG G Flex 2 cost?
Well, a recent uncovered listing with Amazon Germany shows us the smartphone has already been made available for pre-order for the price of €599 / $707 a pop.
From this, we can deduce that the US pricing could get translated into around $600 / €508, which isn't such a massive price tag if you consider we’re dealing with a handset with a flexible back.
For those who missed our earlier coverage at CES 2015, we’re taking an opportunity to remind you what the LG G Flex 2 is all about.
Here are the specs of the LG G Flex 2
The device arrives with a 5.5-inch display (the original had a 6-inch form factor) with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution which is an improvement from the original’s 1280 x 720 res.
The screen is of the P-OLED variety, so you can expect to be able to enjoy deep blacks and vibrant colors. The flexible handset lives off a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz working in concert with 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage (that can be increased to a whopping 2TB capacity via microSD card).
The G Flex 2 comes equipped with a 13MP rear-facing camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) as well as auto-focus just like 2013’s G3. Up in front we have a 2.1MP secondary snapper to satisfy the need for selfies.
The LG G Flex 2 ships out with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, and since the handset already showed up in Europe, it probably won’t be long before the flexible gizmo makes its way to US shores.
