South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is yet another manufacturer expected to soon come to the market with a handset powered by Google's Android operating system. The said device should be the LG Etna, a mobile phone that has been spotted at the IFA Trade Fair, and which might soon become available on Vodafone's airwaves.

There are not too many details available on the new LG Android device, yet a series of specifications still made it into the wild. Among them, we can count a 3-inch display, which should be touchscreen, a side-sliding full-QWERTY keypad, a 5-megapixel photo snapper, Bluetooth capabilities, and USB connectivity.

Other pieces of information on the mobile phone lack at the moment, yet, in case the device indeed comes to Vodafone (which is almost sure, since it has been spotted at the carrier's booth), more should be unveiled in the near future. Until that happens, you can take a look at the image with Etna that surfaced on Chip Online to make an idea of what the device looks like.

As stated above, LG is one of the many mobile phone makers that would walk the Android road. We already know that HTC has three Android handsets available on the market, and that it plans the release of at least another one, HTC Click; Samsung launched the Galaxy a while ago, Huawei also made an Android device for T-Mobile, while others, like Motorola, should soon get on board too.

A large number of Android phones were announced at the beginning of the year, and a wide range of carriers stated they planned on releasing such phones for their subscribers, yet not all these plans prove true. However, Google's operating system sees great momentum, and is expected to gain a lot of market share in the near future, so more devices based on it should land on the market.
