LG Decoy, also known as LG VX8610, will soon hit Verizon's stores much to the joy (we guess) of its subscribers.

Approved by the FCC at the beginning of the year, the new LG phone is now presented in official photos. Not by Verizon, but by Engadget Mobile, which somehow managed to get several "press photos" with the Verizon-branded handset.

Apparently coming to replace LG's successful Chocolate phone, Decoy has a similar slider form factor, but instead of the touch-sensitive keypad integrated into the sweet-named handset, the new device brings a regular d-pad and normal keys. Aside from these, Decoy comes with an ordinary alphanumeric keypad that looks kind of cheap (in the new photos at least).

One of the main attractions of the new phone seems to be its detachable Bluetooth headset that can (or should) be easily removed and put back in a special dock situated on the back case. The other known features of LG Decoy VX8610 include: a 240 x 320 pixel TFT display with 262K colors, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth connectivity (obviously), WAP 2.0 browser, email, Instant Messaging, Music and Video players, microUSB, a 2.5mm audio jack and microSD card support to increase the unknown yet internal memory. GPS is also rumored to be included, but we have to wait until the official list of specs is released to be sure of that.

While we can't possibly know the exact release date of Verizon's new LG Decoy, the second largest American carrier will most probably offer the phone starting early June, in at least two color versions: silver and blue. The price of the handset cannot be a high one and users should expect to pay about $100 if they also want to sign a new contract with Verizon. If not, LG Decoy should drain around $400 from the pockets or cards of those who will buy it.
