Mobile phone maker LG Electronics (LG) announced today the launch of LG Cookie Fresh GS290 in the UK. The new device comes to the market with a full touchscreen display, while boasting the same features as the already popular LG Cookie handset. According to the handset vendor, the new phone comes with a sleeker design and upgraded features, even if it includes some of the elements available with the original Cookie.
The LG Cookie Fresh GS290 is expected to offer users a choice of bold color variations, while offering a series of theme options, and is seen as the most distinctive handset included in the LG Cookie Series yet. Among the main features of the new
handset, we can count easy-to-use functions that should offer users the possibility to easily stay in touch with their friends, no matter where or when they need it.
Moreover, the social features of the new
device should deliver a visually dynamic, interactive experience, LG states. LG Cookie Fresh GS290 boasts a simple social networking sites connector, so that users can access favorite destinations directly. A dedicated Facebook interface is also included in the mix, as well as LiveSquare, which enables the addition of custom animated characters to the contacts one interacts with mostly.

Cookie Fresh GS290 is set to soon become available for purchase via Vodafone, Virgin, Tesco and Phones4u. Its features list includes:

- Widgets and Applications – Enjoy popular mobile applications such as AccWeather (pre-installed) as well as Amazon Search, Fox News, eBay Search and The New York Times all downloadable from the included LG Widget Gallery.
- My Multimedia – Make your own fun with a 2MP camera, MPEG 4 video and MP3 audio playback support, FM tuner/recorder and 3.5mm earphone jack.
