South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has confirmed the upcoming availability of a new family of smartphones in 2013, called the F-series, which will accompany the existing L-series and flagship Optimus G devices.

Furthermore, the company confirmed that there will be new L-series smartphones available for purchase this year, along with a successor for the Optimus G handset.

The company did not offer specific info on when these new smartphones are set to start arriving on shelves, it seems, but the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona might shed some more light on the matter.

“With more European and emerging markets introducing LTE services this year, LG plans to increase smartphone revenues and market share by launching follow-up devices to Optimus G and the L-series as well as the new F-series,” the company announced.
