Who would have thought that LG's Chocolate mobile phone would have such a huge success? Probably at first only the people that designed it did, but now, after we all had our piece of Chocolate either by buying one or by seeing one and dreaming for a few months, we also have the proof that this is the best designed phone launched during the past year. And this is not a personal opinion.

The LG Chocolate has won the DFA (Design for Asia) Grand Award 2006 in the Product Design category, a fact that shows its great impact and influence over the Asian mobile market and lifestyle.

Furthermore, considering the fact that the contest has been organized by the Hong Kong Design Center and the award is given to the product with the most outstanding design of all the phones released worldwide on the mobile market, you will be able to grasp the overall picture of what this distinction really means. The Chocolate has beaten the hell out of the Asian phones we all craved for all along this year, and even more, has beaten them at the thing that made them so appealing: their incredible design.

They have of course other strong points, the high tech features built-in to almost every Asian mobile phone, that, if taking it into consideration, would have pulverized the Chocolate giving it no chances to come on top. But, as said in the beginning, LG's phone took this prize because of its amazing looks that have changed the way we perceive phone designing.

In conclusion, the Chocolate is the best designed cell phone of this year, in all the colors it has been released: black, white, brown and pink. I agree to what the Asians have decided for the first three colors but it will take me a while until I accept the pink one standing in front of the row. The blasphemy of it all!!!
