14 DAY TRIAL // Korean handset manufacturer LG has just announced its new breakthrough in the form of “True HD PS” display.
The new display will be delivered with the LG Optimus LTE smartphone, which was recently introduced in South Korea.
LG released several innovative products in the past, such as the Optimus 3D, the first 3D phone that doesn't require glasses, as well as the Optimus Black, which is delivered with a 700-nit NOVA display.
With the latest True HD IPS display technology, LG is trying to offer customers innovative devices that can successfully compete with other Samsung and HTC products.
True HD IPS display technology was developed in collaboration with sister company LG Display and provides enhanced brightness, resolution, as well as clarity.
According to LG, another advantage of the new technology is the fact the True HD IPS displays show colors in their most natural tones.
Moreover, IPS displays are considered much better than AMOLED displays in terms of color accuracy, brightness, battery efficiency and performance.
“Since mobile devices are widely expected to become the main platform for media consumption in the LTE era, high resolution displays on smartphones will be even more necessary. Optimus LTE with True HD IPS display will usher in a new standard by enabling users to enjoy beautiful and detailed high definition content even while on the go,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
True HD IPS supports genuine 1280 x 720 HD resolution and 16:9 screen viewing without distortion, allowing for more information to be displayed on the screen.
The new technology provides sharper and crisper texts with the 329 ppi real RGB resolution and true natural colors.
The technology is powered by LG’s Mobile HD Graphic Engine, which allows color adjustments to be applied automatically.
LG also offers an HD Movie Editor that provides users with the possibility to quickly create customized HD videos.
