LG Announces the MG220 Mobile Phone

LG Electronics is preparing to launch the MG220 mobile phone on the North American market.


The handset has a compact clamshell design, measures 86 x 45 x 21.5 mm, and weighs 79 grams. The tri-band GSM phone is compatible with 900, 1800, 1900 MHz networks and includes a main LCD display that supports a resolution of 128 x128 pixels, an external monochrome LCD display that supports a resolution of 96 x 64 pixels, and a VGA camera. The VGA camera is capable of taking pictures in resolutions of 640 x 480, 320 x 240 and 160 x 120 pixels. Other features found on the phone include JAVA-games, quick dial, alarm clock, calendar, calculator, converter, 40-tones polyphony, SMS and MMS, and WAP for browsing the Internet.

As seen in the specification list, the MG22O is a mid level phone, which may get a lot of takers due to its affordable price and ergonomically design. There is no word about its price or availability at the moment.
