LG Electronics launched together with Microsoft the first
digital media recorder that uses Microsoft's Program Guide.
LG LRM-519 Digital Media Recorder is a combination between a digital video
recorder (DVR) and a DVD recorder that uses Windows Media Center technologies and has a 160 GB hard disk.
The new system
converges a home theater and a media center, being priced at 600 USD. The Microsoft Program Guide service is available through various subscriptions: one month subscription for 10 USD, one year subscription for 100 USD and a one time subscription - for 249 USD.
LG LRM-519 Digital Media Recorder is dedicated to the home theater enthusiasts that are not always home to watch their favorite shows. But now they can record their shows for later playback. Also, the LG media recorder has two USB slots though which you can connect external storing drives.
The Microsoft Program Guide service allows users to browse through TV programs, using titles or keywords, helping us to find new shows. Any show can be programmed to be automatically recorded, just a single episode or a whole series.
LG LRM-519 can also pause live TV, this pause lasting up to 90 minutes.
