Android 4.4 KitKat, the next major version of Google’s mobile operating system, might become available for the Optimus G smartphone as soon as this month.

Despite the fact that the platform’s arrival hasn’t been officially confirmed as of now, LG France did note that Optimus G was slated to receive the update, a recent article on frandroid notes.

Furthermore, the company went on saying that the new firmware was planned for October, though we doubt that it will actually be released for the device as soon as this month.

Provided that LG is indeed working on the release of the update for this smartphone, it means that handsets such as LG Optimus G Pro and LG G2 will also receive it shortly.

We’ll take the info above with a grain of salt for the time being, but keep an eye on this space for more details on the matter.
