The eyes react to users and serve as notifications

As of lately, LG has become known for its rather unique smartphones. The company that has given us one of the first curved smartphones, the G Flex, is back once again with a peculiar device called AKA.

LG AKA is a mid-range smartphone, but it does come with something that makes it stand out from all other handsets available on the market.

The AKA has eyes on the back which react to users and can act as notifications when needed. They get dizzy when you shake the phone or they look down when you pull the phone out of its case.

The smartphone is available in multiple color options, such as yellow, white, black and pink. That’s not unusual at all, but you will definitely be pleasantly surprised to know that each color has a unique personality.

Just by looking at the expression of these eyes you can tell what kind of personality each color has, so depending on that you can choose whichever you think it fits you best.

Each of these personalities had its unique name as well, so customers will be able to buy the Eggy (yellow), Wooky (white), Soul (black) and YoYo (pink). More importantly, you will be able to change the color case if you decide to go for another AKA personality.

It appears that these personalities are related to the cases not the phone. But there’s more to it, as LG AKA’s eyes color changes from red to green to indicate different emotions.

LG AKA seems to be a Korean affair, at least for now

Moving on to specs, LG AKA ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box and packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, along with 1.5GB of RAM.

The smartphone also sports a 5-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display, 16GB of internal memory, microSD card slot and a large 2610 mAh battery.

On the back, LG AKA features an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

LG also offers several other accessories besides the different color cases, so if you feel the need to grab the AKA, you will also have additional customization methods if you can afford it.

Speaking of which, LG AKA is only available in South Korea for $455 (€365) outright. We can safely assume that this will be a Korean affair, as LG hasn’t shared any details regarding the availability of the smartphone outside this country.
