The development team working on the LEGO Universe MMO has announced that the new line of Ninjago toys has been added to the game, with players now able to use a number of new characters and take part in exciting adventures.

The story linked to the new line is that the Ninjago monastery is being assaulted by the evil Lord Garmadon, who is the leader of a skeleton army that is trying to capture the four Weapons on Spinjitzu, which, as the name implies, transform any LEGO figure into a whirlwind of elemental power.

Players will need to experiment with each of the four, learning to master Earth, Ice, Fire and Lightning, so that they can then defeat the skeleton hordes, which include new enemies like the Bone Wolves and the Skeleton Mad Scientists.

The new game area in LEGO Universe allows players to battle the skeletons with Imagination tipped arrows, a new Dragon-in-a-Box, ready to shower them with fire, and even launch figurines around with a Bone Catapult.

The Ninjago content is not all about combat and players can also solve puzzles in the Four Gardens of Spinjitsu and can complete challenges in the Four Dojos of the same art.

LEGO Universe now has one hundred new missions and the level cap for characters has been increased to 45 in order to accommodate the experience that can be gained from their completion.

Jordan Itkowitz, who is the design director working on LEGO Universe, has stated when the announcement was made that, “LEGO devotees are already closely connected to the world of Ninjago thanks to the toys and the film Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.”

He added, “With this new addition to the LEGO Universe family of worlds, we’re giving our players free reign to bring their creations to life in a world they already know and love.”

LEGO Universe is free-to-play at the moment but those who subscribe are able to experience more of what the game world has to offer.
