LEGO Universe, the massive multiplayer online game built around bricks, has launched its free-to-play content, allowing all players who are interested in a sneak peek at the experience to jump in without paying anything and see what the game has to offer.

The free-to-play space of LEGO Universe includes two of the adventure zones, where mini games and quests can be accessed, and one players property area, where a gamer can create his own models and buildings using virtual LEGO bricks.

Those who are playing for free can also see what others have created in LEGO Universe and are also able to chat with other players and team up with them in the game.

Those who access the free-to-play content can also get 10,000 coins and can sample an assortment of the gear that can be found in the game and can join the fabled Nexus Force.

The developers at the LEGO Group say that all those who enter the free-to-play areas and enjoy the game can then pay the 10 dollars a month subscription in order to get access to the rest of the universe without any sort of restriction.

The full LEGO Universe MMO includes more than 15 adventure zones, with more on the way, and access to a number of competitions and community events.

Before the Christmas of this year the LEGO Group also plans to add a Ninjago themed area to the MMO and more content will be delivered next year.

The LEGO Group MMO is aimed at both children and their parents, as long as they share a love for adventure and for the famous bricks.

LEGO Universe is following the free-to-play trend that has been sweeping the MMO world in the last year, with more and more titles choosing to allow as many players to join without paying, hoping that at least a small number of those involved will choose to pay in the long term to get access to more content.
