Video game developer TT Games and publisher Warner Bros. announce that they are working on LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, a game that will blend the rich universe of Marvel-made comic books with the unique destructibility and building mechanics of LEGO.

The game is expected to arrive on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the Nintendo Wii but also the PC, the PlayStation Vita, the 3DS and the normal DS.

Launch date for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is set for the fall period, probably during November.

The development team says that it will create an original storyline for the game, in collaboration with Marvel writers, which will see Nick Fury, the leader of SHIELD, working with Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes in order to stop an invasion from villain Galactus, Devourer of Worlds.

The actual gameplay will see players get through combat heavy sequences, action platforming scenes, while also solving puzzles and using LEGO bricks to create new items.

Tom Stone, the managing director working at TT Games, tells Game Informer that, “We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.”

He adds, “Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”

TT Games will integrate more than 100 unique characters in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, including fan favorites like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Deadpool and Loki.

A new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes toy collection will also be launched alongside the video game, although there will be no connectivity options between the two.
