The development team at Traveller’s Tales and publisher Warner Bros. are eager to show players the new mechanics of their upcoming LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham via a special new San Diego Comic-Con video that shows how the Dark Knight travels into space.

Gamers can also catch a quick glimpse of the space-based gameplay of the title, which is designed to allow gamers to control a variety of heroes from the DC Comics universe as they work together in order to stop Brainiac, who is aiming to destroy Earth using the power rings of the Lanterns.

The development team says that, despite the name of the game, each character will have a wide variety of customization options.

More than 150 heroes and villains will be available in LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, including the likes of Killer Croc and Solomon Grundy, but the new footage focuses on the familiar blocky faces of Superman and Batman.

Troy Baker and Travis Willingham will continue to offer the voices of the protagonists.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is set to arrive on the PC, the PlayStation 4, PS3, the Vita, the Xbox one, the 360, the Wii U and the 3DS before the end of the year.
