LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, the video game created by TT Games and publisher by Warner Bros. Interactive, has managed to spend yet another week at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart for the week that ended on July 21.

The five weeks that the game has led the chart show that a well-timed summer release has the potential to generate sales and revenue for a publisher while other companies crowd their own releases during the fall launch season.

London 2012: The Official Video Game, from publisher SEGA, is still in second spot in the United Kingdom as the real-world competition is just a few days away from the opening ceremony, with some competitions getting off the ground tomorrow.

The last place on the podium has been taken over by Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the third-person action and stealth shooter created and published by Ubisoft.

The Amazing Spider-Man, which went on the podium during its first week on sale, has now slid down one position to come in fourth while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the shooter that dominated 2011, has managed to climb one position on the strength of its downloadable content launches.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, from Square Enix, is the first new entry in the United Kingdom video game chart that was launched during the July 21 week in sixth and Batman: Arkham City, another Warner Bros. game, occupies seventh place.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, from SEGA, is in eight spot and Max Payne 3 from Rockstar settled on ninth, coming from 12.

The United Kingdom software chart is closed down by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which seems to once again be on its way out, after occupying seventh during last week.
