Video game developer Traveller's Tales and publisher Warner Bros. are ready to deliver the first trailer for the new LEGO Avengers video game, showing players how the famous superhero team will look when they are made up entirely of the famous bricks.

The two companies are also saying that the title will be launched in time for holiday season and that it can be played on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, older home consoles, the PC, the 3DS, the Vita and the Nintendo Wii U.

Traveller's Tales states, "Play as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in their quest to save the world while reliving some of the most amazing moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the famed Battle of New York between the Avengers and Super Villain Loki as seen in Marvel’s The Avengers."

It seems that events from both movies will be portrayed, and the coming video game does not include elements from the actual comic books.

Limited details about the actual gameplay of LEGO Avengers have been offered so far, but it seems that gamers will be able to explore the world and story with a variety of unlockable characters.

The core mechanics will probably be the same as with other titles in the franchise, with gamers able to destroy and reconstruct the world around them.

LEGO video games are having a big year

LEGO Avengers sounds like an interesting experience, especially for fans of the superhero movie franchise, but the series does have two even more engaging titles that will arrive later in the year.

LEGO Dimensions will aim to dominate the toy-based genre, delivering a strong competitor for Disney Infinity 3.0 and Skylanders SuperChargers.

The game will offer content based on DC Comics, Portal 2, The Simpsons, and Back to the Future.

Gamers can also pick up LEGO Worlds, which is competing directly with Minecraft.

On June 12, the two companies are also delivering a LEGO take on the new Jurassic World movie.

The experience has 20 levels, 5 for each of the movies in the series, and more than 100 unlockable characters, including 20 different dinosaurs that each has a special power.
