Having successfully raised the necessary funds, it will ship in September

Global positioning system devices are all well and good, and so are smartphones when you want to reach a destination or tread a path you've never been on. But it's dangerous to reach for them when you're on a bike.

Some bicycles have a special mount in the middle of the front set, where the handlebars connect. There, you might be able to clip a GPS or phone.

Many don't have such a thing though, air pressure could cause it to fall off if you ride fast enough.

That's why a pair of cyclists took matters into their own hands and made a special bike navigator.

Capable of wirelessly connecting to an Android or iOS handset, it indicates when to turn and where. The closer the turn gets, the faster the LEDs flash.

LEDs are used to indicate the direction you should take. The Hammerhead is shaped like a T for that purpose.

You'll need to download the navigation app on your phone to make it work, but this is no different from every other phone-linked gadget in the world.

You can set the phone to discover a path via the app's search function, or access a route shared by a friend.

If you want to be among the people who will receive one of these things in September (2014), you can set a pre-order for $85 / €61 – €85 (not sure if the exchange rates are being taken into account here).
