A man killing Transportation Security Administration and injuring six others in a shooting at LAX yesterday was suicidal before the attack, his family said.

Fox News describes that 23-year-old Paul Anthony Ciancia was contemplating taking his own life. He texted his brother before embarking on a shooting early on Friday.

Pennsville, New Jersey Police Chief Allen Cummings reports taking a statement from the shooter's younger brother, who mentions receiving a message about Ciancia's potential suicide.

The man notified LAPD immediately, and officers were dispatched to Ciancia’s Los Angeles address, where he lives with roommates.

Ciancia was not at home, but his two friends told police that they had not noticed any worrying signs.

Ciancia opened fire at LAX just 45 minutes later. The panic created when police arrived after the LAX shooting has been captured on video. The footage shows the evacuation following shots fired at Terminal 3.

The shooter was followed by police and apprehended near a Burger King. He has been shot and his current condition has not been disclosed, NY Daily News writes.
