Take-Two Interactive, the publishing partner of Rockstar and Team Bondi, has revealed that the recently released L.A. Noire has the potential to become another strong franchise for it, as initial sales figures are extremely good.

L.A. Noire was in development for quite some time, and, after its release last week, it has been met with almost universal acclaim from the media and average players, all praising the two studios behind it, Team Bondi and Rockstar.

Now, during its recent investors call, via GiantBomb, Take-Two Interactive, the publishing partner of the two studios, stated that while it can't compare L.A. Noire to the huge success of last year's Red Dead Redemption, as of yet anyway, the game can spark another strong franchise for the company.

"We certainly don't want to be subject to [comparing] all of our new releases of new franchises against the extraordinary success of Red Dead Redemption. Every title stands alone. We have every reason to believe L.A. Noire is another strong franchise for this company. No matter how you slice it, it's a very successful release. To be able to say that again is extraordinary. This management team is just immensely grateful to Rockstar for delivering another superb title and 2K [Games] for all the franchises they've been delivering as of late."

Take-Two also announced that its publishing deal with Rockstar has been extended for "another few years," so there is certainly enough time for the studio, alongside Team Bondi, to deliver a successor to L.A. Noire, not to mention plenty of other sequels, with the most important being Grand Theft Auto V, not to mention Max Payne 3 or possibly a new Red Dead title.

L.A. Noire has been out for a week now, and has just received a fresh patch in order to eliminate some of the glitches encountered by players.

The title is a detective simulator, available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which sees players take on the role of Detective Cole Phelps, in 1947's Los Angeles, in order to solve some of the most important crimes that appeared in the city of angels.
